NC: Asheville Area : Looking for a 3E D&D Group to Join

cybertalus

First Post
I want to play D&D again and am in need of a group to game with.

It's been about a year and a half since I last played, so I'm a bit rusty just now and haven't upgraded to 3.5, although I'm willing to. I'm available to play weekends and most evenings, and prefer games that have a balance of roleplaying and combat.

If you've got an open slot in your game and I sound like a good fit, please let me know.

Thanks Piratecat. I'm appreciative of any help in finding a group. I'm jonesin' bad for some D&D just now.
Hi, Cybertalus! I'm actually not running a game right now, but I'll point a couple of local DMs to this thread to see if either of them are looking for players.

Meanwhile, have you checked out the Asheville Gaming Society? I don't have an email address for them, but if you go by Pastimes (a gaming store just north of town -- take Merrimon Ave north), they should be able to set you up with the group. My understanding is that the gaming society meets once a week, and DMs run 4-session games with new players each time, as a way to let players and DMs get a feel for one another. That might be just what you need.

Also, Sword and Grail on Biltmore Ave is a new cool gaming store with space in back for games. I don't know how well-used that space is, but you may want to check them out too.

Good luck!
Daniel

Much appreciated, Pielorinho. I'm not afraid of a commute, so even if you know of groups in Hendersonville, Waynesville, or Brevard who might need a player, I'd appreciate you pointing them my way.

I have, although my timing has so far been off in trying to get started with them. I made it to one meeting the week after they'd started new games, and then had a conflict the next time they started again. I'm hoping to make the next new start session (March 9th I believe).

I just stopped by Sword and Grail for the first time this weekend, though it didn't occur to me to check them out as a possibility for finding a group. Next time I'm there I'll be sure to see if they have a notice board or some kind of organized gaming slots or the like. Thanks for the suggestions and help.

Our group is based in Morganton, NC if you're interested. You can check us out here...

Thanks for the link. I just got started in a group a lot closer to home though, and have an invitation to join another, and that's just the right amount of gaming for me for the time being. However if I hear of anyone else who might be interested, I'll be sure to point them in your direction.

Kind of a bump.

I'm in a game now, but would like to join a second one, either D&D 3.x or d20 Modern. Ideally I'm looking for a game that's straight by the core books or very close to it, and meets on Mondays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays in the evening.
