First Post
In my Friday Night game, I'm gonna be running a 2nd level Necromancer (played as an Utterdark Nukeromancer) and have to pick a familiar. I have 2 quastions:

Would a child have the necessary rules to be a familiar (based on the blood component/magic component)

and

Would a slaymate (LM) make a good familiar for a necromancer

RAW:
no and no(especially not without Improved Familiar).
since you have libris mortis, you might want to consider the Stiched Flesh Familiar route which will help with your undead-related stuff.

Children aren't animals.
Familars without Improved Familiar feat are animals. The feat lets yoi have almost any type as a familar (DM decides if possible).

Slaymate would be fine if took Improved Familar so sure.
