I loved the Player's Guide to the Wilderlands and I'm eagerly awaiting this box :). I hope it will hold up the spirit of adventure that breathes from the Player's Guide :)!

No rational game company would have made it. Had I known when I started what this would take to do I wouldnt have done it. Luckily I didnt because this is absolutely the most cool thing we have ever done. There is nothing like it. Seriously.

If it weren't for irrational decisions to produce the best possible without thinking what makes money and what doesn't, then we wouldn't have some of the greatest RPG books ever published. Cheers to you, Clark, for doing this! ;)

Oh my gosh, someone is going to do it...a boxed set. 18 maps! And details....lots of details!

This is what I've been waiting for.

One thing I'm wondering...will it be fairly simple to place the existing Necromancer adventures into this campaign? Also, will there be additional adventures published that will support this campaign setting?

Again, thank you for cranking this puppy out. I'm looking forward to release day :)

The Judges Guild setting has always been easy for people to drop things into. Necro mods fit great. As do any.

Unlike many published settings, that have 30+ supplements for it, the Wilderlands won't. This isnt the Forgotten Realms which as a DM you fell you have to have all 100 supplements and read all of the novels. That really limits your freedom as a DM. Not so with the Wilderlands. This is basically it. The boxed set, the player's guide, the city state. Anything else is gravy.

You can dig a bit deeper and find some classic old products, but we have done that for you.

Important point: YOU DONT NEED TO SCOUR EBAY FOR OLD JUDGES GUILD PRODUCTS TO RUN THIS SETTING. We have them and have read all of them and have incorporated them into the boxed set.

You forgot to mention Caverns of Thracia, which is already out, Tegal Manor, and other modules/mini-settings, will be "meant" to be used in the Wilderlands setting. But as Caverns of Thracia shows, they are written to be used in any setting a DM wants to use it in. Same with CSIO (City State of the Invincible Overlord, also already in print) too.

Though things like Rappan Athuk, Vault of Larin Karr, etc don't have links to the Wilderlands setting like CSIO or Tegel Manor, they will fit in pretty easily and its down to individual DM to place them where they like and there will probably be some threads over on the necromancer boards about what other GMs have done.

Another thing that grabs my attention is that the maps are detailed in five mile hexes. A five mile area is something I can wrap my mind around. I'm planning to make the Wilderlands my new 'home' setting.

Speaking of adventures, I looked at Necromancer's upcoming products page and see very cool releases coming down the pipe. Shades of Gray and The Coils of Set sound very exciting. I bet these will fit into the Wilderlands nicely.

They certainly will... :)

For those who havent visited the necro message boards, you can go there and go to the Wilderlands Boxed Set forum where I have posted a detailed contents list from the Introduction chapter of the Boxed Set.
