Necropolis Completed!

Six months after we started on this adventure, with ten sessions of play in the actual adventure (with an additional three sessions of prelude), we've finally finished Necropolis!

No-one died in the final session, although Rahotep was nearly freed as four of the PCs succumbed to his evil whispers. Quick thinking (and abjuration magic) freed two of them from his grasp, then good old "hit them until they go down" stopped the others.

Lots of fun. The PCs were all 15th by the end, with one exception; and it brought this section of my Greyhawk campaign to its end. Greg was the only player to have a PC continuous for the entire game, and his reward was to have Lukas advance to 16th level at the end of three years of play.

It's back to my long-time favourite of the County of Ulek and the threat of the Fhoi Myore in the next session, with 1st level PCs. :-)

Before going to the session, I drew up the maps and sorted out the miniatures I would need. With my family's brand new digital camera, I took a couple of pictures...

Very nice Merric B.

I thought that adventure started with the characters at 10th level? Did they start at that level or a different one? What sort of changes did you make to the module? Where did you place it in Greyhawk? (I have it and are considering running it for my group). They are in the final death throes of RttToEE, but I never seem to have a problem scaling an adventure up... :p

It is that, CotSQ, or a brand new home brew for them.

Congratulations!

I know nothing about the adventure, but your write up makes me want to know more.
If you have time, could you talk a little about how you found the adventure in terms of ease of use, built in plausability, non combat challenges, engagement (interest for the players) etc?

Cheers,

Rassilon.

Sounds like the end of a fun campaign. I hope you post a play-test review.

ON an unrelated note, Merric, is 3rdedition.org going offline as I saw earlier? If so, do you have plans for your miniatures information site (and your other stuff there)?

Congrats on finishing. As much as I love the adventure, I don't think there are too many groups who roughed it out to the end. Mine certainly didn't.

I will have to. :)

The brief review: I still love the adventure, but Necromancer Games haven't done a great job of converting the monsters. It's adequate, but no more.

I don't know. I really don't.

I wish I had more plans than I do. The news aspect of the site will be able to continue, but the warbands and article database may be in trouble. I've had a couple of offers to continue hosting it, but I haven't been able to follow them up yet.

Cheers!
