Need 1 more player in Manhattan- Game starts this sunday.

Howdy,

I'm running a game that starts this Sunday, April 3rd for a total party size of 4 players and 1 dm. I'd love to have more but my apartment has space constraints and I own 5 chairs total. I need just 1 more player.

Rules & Setting:
The game will start at 1st level, and will use the Pathfinder rules, which are basically just a revision of the 3.5 D&D rules. It will serve as an introduction to the world of Eberron, so no worries if you're unfamilar. It's a world built to blend classical d&d with more exotic roleplaying tropes, like steampunk, swashbuckling, noir, pulp, and more.

I have gmed all sorts of things for over a decade, but I haven't ran a Pathfinder game yet, so if you're unfamiliar, we can all learn together. I've read through the core book and like what I see.

Style:
My style is heavy on roleplaying, social interaction, intrigue, character development etc. However, I also dig combat and action. I've never had a session without having to role initiative at-least once.

I am into experimenting with game styles, and I like a lot of drama(in game). I try to run games that encourage unique character concepts, and I try to adapt my challenges to feature the party's strengths. I'm not a merciless Gary Gygax type.

Disclaimers O:
I'm familiar with character optimization, but I certainly don't get off on it. If you're the type to play a CoDzilla, a strongheart halfing god wizard, etc, I probably won't be a good DM for you, as I'm perfectly comfortable with house-ruling away the abilities of unbalaced characters if they start forcing me to optimize my npc's to keep up. I want to keep my game a happy and healthy place for players who make character decisions based on flavor and characterization, and this gets disrupted if I get locked in an arms-race with a meticulous power gamer. Also I have way too much storytelling junk to do, to spend hours on CO forums looking for your Achilles heal. This has rarely been a problem, but just putting it out there.

Also, if you expect exactingly strict adherence to the minutia of the rules, you may be similarly disappointed by my style. I'm of the school of thought that gaming books and rules are there to give the GM tools and options to make his game fun for the players. There seems to be a more recent school of thought that the rules are a morally binding social contract, any divergence from which requires advance advertising. While I don't embrace this concept, I do make best efforts at transparency and consistency. That said, know upfront that house rules are subject to sudden change at my discretion.

Logistics:
The game will meet weekly at my apartment on Sundays, near Columbia University. It will generally start around 1-2 PM and run until the early evening. Specifically my place is on 119th, just off of Amsterdam. To get there by subway, you'll take the 1 train to the 116th stop.

No one will ever call my apartment spacious, but it has just enough space in my living room for 5 people to sit around a card table. I have 2 CATS who will generally be present, but will probably spend most of their time in the other room. We have an elevator, but due to the concrete steps outside of my building, it is unfortunately not wheelchair accessible.

I generally have all required materials, but if you can bring an extra dice set or a relevant gaming book, that always helps.

If you are interested or have questions, please feel free to pm me.

Thanks!
