Need a cool monster name

Ognenniy Zmey is an aurora-related dragon (male, but whatever)

Na fir-chlis. (Name of some sort of aurora fairy, but close enough)

Are you looking for what she calls herself, or what others call her? What society or race interacts with her the most? What sort of culture are the titans who guard her?

For what she calls herself,
<Sound of freezing sleet blown through an evergreen forest in the dead of winter>; it's a hissing, overtone-heavy, reverberating moan, with a soft rhythmic pattering in the higher registers. It's a sound a dragon can make, the chewies can't make a sound that layered.

For what others call her?
Glacidenta
Isschialess
Shivers-in-night
That frozen bi***

Thunderclap
Hoarfrost - a type of frost
Hordefrost - a play on hoarfrost
Serac - a ridge, pinnacle, or block of ice in the crevasses or slope of a glacier
Rhymeice or rimeice - rime a thin coating of frost formed on cold objects exposed to fog or cloud
Cirque - a semicircular hollow with steep walls formed by glacial erosion on mountains.
Skena a river in Canada
Graupel - a type of hard round snow

Some cool Inuit words
anniu-- falling snow
api-- ground snow
siqoq-- smoky, drifting snow
upsik-- wind-beaten snow
kimoaqtruk-- snow drift
salumaroaq-- smooth snowy surface of fine particles
natatgonaq-- rough snowy surface of large particles

or there is always Stephanie :p

Thanks for the ideas. I think I might go with Stephanie...

...but maybe I'll still give it some thought.

(Love the Inuit names...think I might go that route).

I am honored.

BTW, now your dragon is now property of Wizards of the Coast. When you reference please use Anniu © and TM 2007 Wizards :p

Huh? Is German that scary or am I missing some reference?

I just meant that the word, whatever it means, sounds truly intimidating :D

"You suddenly hear the unmistakeable noise of a Schneegestöber coming towards you" is a sentence that would certainly make my players truly shiver in fear!!
