Need A Decent Cheap Digital Camera

Angel Tarragon

I would like to get a digital camera to take with me to GenCon. I don't have a lot to spend - $60 (this has to include cost of tax). So what do you guys reccommend?

If $60 is your definition of "cheap" then it certainly won't be "decent". Used is about the best you can do at that price.

IMO, you are better to just buy a couple of disposable cameras at that price.

I've been pricing out cameras for a while now and to get anything worthline that will last you into the future, I wouldn't spend anything less than $300-350.

We picked up a Kodak easyshare for the school yearbook club for $95 CDN just after the holiday season. It's ok as long as you arent' taking shots in large rooms with poor lighting. It has been GREAT for outdoors shots and closer pics.

Again, 16 megs internal memory, USB. We also spent some more money to get a 64 meg card for it, so the I don't have to go into the school every day to clear the memory. :)

You can buy a cheap disposible camera and bring it to a place to get the pics, and most places have an option to have the pics on CD so you can put them on a computer.

You could try garage sales, my brother got a $175 digital camera for $25. Ebay is also a good choice, but with only $60 you will have a hard time finding a digital camera.

OR you could sign a contract with a cellphone company to get a new picture phone, I know of a couple right now that are giving the older ones away. Of course then you are stuck with them for two (or more) years and the pictures aren't the best. But it technically it's free :)
