Hmmm, the last time I used a dragon his name was Azurean the Fell of Fell Deeping, an Aquatic Blue Dragon. He had a mixed reputation, both for his tendency to take prisoners and hold them for ransom, and for being of great honor.

He was based in part on this mini, err, collectible action figure from McFarlane -

Another was a firebreathing 'white' dragon named Hrymloki of Frostburn Isle. Neither Red nor White, but again based on a McFarlane dragon -

Filthy with soot, and reeking of smoke, Hrymloki was crippled as a very young dragon by Frost Giants. Now he dwells alone, in the flame scarred ruins of their halls. He is actually on good terms with the humans on the south side of the island, though they warn people that all who trespass on his side of the island are slain.... (In actual fact they have a signal for when they want to speak with him, and have a mutual defense pact with him.)

I don't think that I have used a 'standard' D&D dragon in 25 years or so....

Sad as it is, I have a habit of grabbing prescription medication bottles and trying mix-n-match games with the names of medications (especially the generic name) for dragon names. Just with the bottles I have sitting around nearby I have:
Tizanadine
Clonazepam
Escitalopram
Nortriptyline
Hydrocodone
Meloxicam
Benzonatate
and Gabapentin
to draw from to mix-n-match parts from to come up with dragon names...

Tizalicam
Clobenzaltyline

Bad examples, but it's the idea. Every once in a while you run into a medication name that's so weird and funky sounding it works without alteration.
