Need a map of a flat-bottom river boat

Water Bob

I'm looking for a map of a small, flat-bottom river boat--preferrably, two boats that are slightly different. Sure, I can draw my own, but if a quick download exists out there, then why re-invent the wheel?

I need very low-tech boats. I'm going to use them for my Conan game based in Cimmeria. Cimmeria's rivers are shallow, so these boats will have a shallow draft and probably be propelled by men using longpoles. I'm sure there's a skin-covered area to get out of the sun, and there's room up front for a couple of horses and/or some goods (it's not like trade in Cimmeria is bursting at the seams).

If you know where I can find such a plan (for a d20 based game), I appreciate it in advance.

Thanks!

Here are some hull shapes above with FLAT at the top.

Are you looking for a map highly stylized by an artist? If you simply need a shape, then rectangular or "boat-shaped" with long parallel sides (rather than bowed sides) are how most flat bottom boats are designed. Bottoms are flat, sides are steep. Lengths typically range from 10' to 100' or more. These are all a single flat deck with larger boats often including enclosures atop.

Are you sure you don't want a paddle steamer?

Mongoose has some old downloads of ship plans for their Seas of Blood, Ships of the Elves, and Ships of the Goblinoids d20 supplements that might do -

I used to resize the B&W images, print them out, and glue stick them to foamcore board for some decent d20 ship to ship combat.

Wow. Those are nifty. I'm thinking of doing something on a bigger boat in a lake, so I might use one of those deckplans for that. Thanks!

No, not really. I just thought I'd look. I can draw up a rectangular boat with a covered area about 20' foot long pretty easily. I was just checking to see what was out there.

LOL. I'm absolutely sure. The Cimmerians haven't mastered steam.

Thanks, though!

D6 Adventure Locations (bonus: it's free) has a map of a river boat. I re-skinned it as a luxury sea vessel for a Firefly-ish sci-fi game adventure once :)

Nice. They have a bunch of freebies that might be worth grabbing and skimming over including D6 Adventure Locations, D6 Fantasy, D6 Creatures, D6 Space, D6 Fantasy, D6 Space Ships, D6 Adventure, D6 Fantasy Locations, Bill Coffin's Septimus, and the Septimus Quickstart Rules.

Not a map, but Fiddler's Green has a paper model of a Narrow Boat -

Not certain of the scale, but making PDFs bigger or smaller is fairly easy. :)

More for canals than rivers, but they could be found on both.
