Need a tad of help for my next session! (My players, shooo!)

you could pick TYmora as the good goddess

and her evil twin sister Beshaba(sp?) as the evil doer.

edit: iirc Beshaba has random acts of misfortune as her portfolio.;)

There is alot you can do in terms of good versus evil gods in FR. I would suggest picking up Faiths and Pantheons - its a great buy and read.

You could go for some different approaches, instead of the always used Bane, although I think he does sort of fit what you are trying to do here.

Here are a few:

Malar (beastlord) has evil lycanthrope worshippers. Maybe make Malarites attack and take over a temple to Selune who has some good lycanthrope worshippers.

Shar against Mystra? or Sune? (cliche I know)

or maybe play the neutral against neutral card?

Have a temple of Isthithia (water) be overtaken by Kossuth (fire) worshipping fanatics. You can use the Black Flame Zealots from UE.

or maybe some evil versus evil? If your party doesnt have a Paladin, they dont really need to find out until one church has had the adventurers do the work for them.

So maybe have some Aurilites (cold, ice, winter) be manipulated by Talos (storms) a la Ice Wind Dale 2?

There are tons of avenues. I am at work right now, but I'll look up a few more for you in my copy of F&P tonight.

Cheers,

Thanks for the help!

Gregor, the thing with Isthithia vs. Kossuth sounds interesting. I've always liked the idea of using the basic elements as different "sides", like good versus evil. Fire is a good representative of evil, but it could as well be neutral. Anyway, I'll see how I can integrate this with the other idea. However, I think I'll stick with having Bane as the evil god. The element thingy will come later.

I guess the opponent of Bane could be of any alignment, due to the fact that he's got dominion in his portfolio, and he doesn't favour evil over good (theoretically, that is; practically I guess he tends to ally with evil rather than good if he had to choose). However, I guess the opponent will be of good alignment (or any non-evil) since the PCs are good.

Again, thanks for the help!
