Need a wizard slayer..

We're fast forwarding a few years and levels. Us (the players) have been kept in the dark about how many time a week or so away. The guy playing the wizard sent me an IM to gloat about the poo...

Is this an online game? If it is, I'd just tell the guy where he can cram it and go find another game, honestly - there are hundreds of them out there with far better players. I mean, really - this guy [playing the wizard] sounds like a Grade A ass.

Take a few levels (3) in cleric just enough to get Silence, or get an item with silence on it.

Mages hate that spell.

Why?

1) They'll never hear you coming. You'll be able to get as close as you want before striking, and your gear won't alert them to your presence. Better yet-do it while he's sleeping and you're on watch...

2) Most won't be able to cast ANY spell in a Silence field- most mage spells require verbal components. Some cleric spells do, but not nearly as many.

3) He can't call for help or give orders to whatever thralls or cohorts and other allies.

Of course, this only works if he doesn't have the Silent Spell metamagic feat AND that he hasn't used it to memorize some kind of useful spell.

Add to that whatever nifty domain abilities you might pick up, like Smite or Death Touch- dead mage.

On the more mundane side, use weapons that do damage every round, forcing mages to make those concentration checks. Acid, fire...they're all effective.
