Need Advice for Psionic Character

Hey All,
I am creating a 16th level psionics based character to replace a druid character, not out of necessity just for fun, and will be running the character through the last bit of City of the Spider Queen. So, in the underdark.

The character has to be a feral dwarf, immune to poison and small, who was captured by Duergar and grew up in the underdark. The initial feat will be Thunder Blessing, he's the druid's twin.

Initial stats are: 15, 15, 15, 17, 16, 13 rolled using a fairly heroic method in keeping with the fact that the rest of the characters were built for Oathbound. The Race gives a +2 to con and -2 to cha though the feat gives a +2 to all cha checks.

Any advice whatsoever would be greatly appreciated.

Should have the normal money for the level and Tharrd Harr as a patron deity.

What direction do you want to go? Psion? Psion Warrior?

Since you gain a Constitution Bonus, consider Psychokinesis(Con-Based Psion, Savant). There are some very nice powers in that line. Concussion, Stomp, Telekinesis...

Well since I'll be replacing a druid I was thinking Psion, but I'm interested in advice on any class, since all the prestige classes work better with Psi Warrior, or so it seems.

Do Savants do pyrokineticist well?

Pyrokineticist have a prerequisite of knowing "Control Flame."

It's a Savant power (though any Psion with a CON of 14 or more can get it). A Savant can take it at 4th level, any other Psion cannot take it until 5th level.

Are you replacing a druid in abilities and party role? Because, if so, then a pyro is a bad idea.

If you had said you were replacing a spellflinger, then I'd say you're in the right area.

As a Psion, to replace a druid, I think the closest you'll get a Metacreation (Int) or Psychometabolism (Wis, I think). Psionics is not well-suited to filling the druidic niche.

If you're looking for a character that is a a change of pace from the druid, then you're definitely in the right field... :D

Not looking to replace Druid abilities necessarily, do need to replace Druid role in the party-primarily creative spell slinger with the occasional mobility or melee moment-, and looking for a change of pace.

ShadowX gave you a very good link that you should read to get you started.

What rules are you using? Just the PsiHB or are you incorporating Mindscapes and/or the material on the Wizards website? I recommend Mindscapes. It has a ton of useful material as well as some "fixes" to some perceived weaknesess of the class(es). YMMV.

I'd go with the PsiWarrior but that's purely for asthetics not for any other particular reason.

As of this moment, I have gone through the link and found it very helpful. I have also acquired Mindscapes and am borrowing the PsiHandbook from my DM. He doesn't have access to anything other than the handbook as far as I know. The Handbook looks to me to be errated since it does not contain the line about the Slayer Prc having access to all exotic weapons.

Don't know anything yet about the stuff on the Wizard's site.

From what I've seen the Mindscapes supplement the most fundamental change, aside from the psi-combat system which I am unlikely to use in either version, is the note that Psions get to choose two secondary disciplines which also use the attribute from their primariy discipline.

Anyone have any opinions on that? It seems like the sort of fix that might totally rewrite the dynamics behind character creation.
