Well, there are a couple standards in there, tenser's, true strike, finger of death, etc. But you're right. That's why in the cons it says extremely limited spell list. I probably just copied and pasted sorcerer pros to warmage because of the advantages shared by spontaneous casters. :)

Have you also considered elemental savant? Costs you 2 caster levels, but adds +2dc to all your cold spells. So if you have spell focus and greater spell focus in both cold and evocation, all your energy evocation spells are at +6 dc. Take the metamagic feat from frostburn to ignore cold resistance, and you've got one badass mage.
 

Considered it yeah, but it's more focused on becoming an elemental than casting powerful elemental spells (though it does that too).
