I thought the bride's father/parent took care of that (financially).

The cases where the bride's family pays for the wedding are, in my experience, becoming more rare.

And, even in those cases, there's a tradition of tipping. For example: the bride's father may pay the limo service company, but the Best Man makes sure the individual driver gets his tip, etc.
