Need D&D Shadow Minis? See Inside...

So I've been running an adventure in the Plane of Shadow and the PCs have been attacked by a lot of shadows. But what to do for shadow minis? I've been using the Cursed Spirit D&D minis but they're light blue and white and don't convey the right attitude.

Sooooo, I bought 10 extra Cursed Spirits off Ebay and spraypainted them flat black. Added a layer of flat sealant for protection and, voila, shadows! And they do look cool, if I say so myself.

That got me thinking and you could just as easily spraypaint any of the D&D minis to make a shadow version of it. I just chose the Cursed Spirit b/c I thought it was a close representation of shadows.

Btw, I know about the shadow mini in one of the early D&D mini sets but he is rare IIRC and I just couldn't be bothered. Besides, shadows come in packs!

Shadow? There was a wraith, but I can't remember any shadow. In death knell maybe (after all, it's about undead)

if you can, you should post a picture of the finished pack of shadows

Tell me how, and I will. I'm not that tech-savvy. I have a digital camera though. But I've never posted piks to EN World before...

p.s. it was a wraith in the previous mini set, not a shadow as I stated earlier. Whoops, my bad!

when you reply, don't use the quick reply, use the advanced reply button. Under the section that you put in the text is a button for attachments. You should be able to post the pictures that way.

Sorry guys, the photo quality is super crappy as my camera is super crappy, especially for small things up close (like shadow minis!). They look like hazy blobs - which is probably how shadows should look but for our impression its not very useful at all.

Picture the Cursed Spirit minis with a flat black paint job. I think they work really well b/c they lack lower limbs, which fits my vision of shadows to a tee. Just make sure not to use a glossy black or protective sealant b/c I can't imagine shadows looking shiny...
