Need Good PrC For my Fighter - Please Help

We just started a new campaign and my character is a half-orc fighter with the following stats:

18 STR
14 DEX
14 CON
10 INT
10 WIS
6 CHA

he is Lawful Good in alignment and worships Heironeous. I want him to be a horribly ugly pig looking brute who is actually kind hearted and wants to be heroic.

He would like to be a paladin but obviously doesnt have the capabilities for that.

Anyone know of a good prestiege classs that fits this character so I have something to work towards? I have looked in all of the base class books and do not see anything. I was hoping someone knew of a good one from a 3rd party book that I can purchase.

Thanks,

Kristov

Sure... Loremaster.:p Or maybe Dirgist from Ravenloft. :D

Seriously, though, again from Ravenloft, maybe Knight of Shadows? As with most things Ravenloft, kind of bleak. Maybe not what you have in mind for him.

Knight protector is good but probably won't work unless your DM either amends the class or your character has a political bent--they're as much about restoring the glory of the Great Kingdom as defending innocents. How about Devoted Defender or Templar? Maybe even both (he could be a guard assigned to protect high legates of the faith--maybe even the party cleric (if he's a Heironean).

I'd go for any holy warrior PrC that has a pseudo-paladin feel. Templar is a good suggestion, and Divine Champion (from FRCS) is another possibility. Also, consider the Holy Liberator. You have to be Chaotic Good to be a Holy Liberator, which you could work into your character: he tries hard to remain lawful, but due to his upbringing and the way he's treated by others, he ultimately finds himself being more chaotic than lawful.

Good call. I just really like that PrC. My first ever PC (first RP for me was 3rd Edition) was a Dwarven fighter who was going for that PrC. Its a shame that campaign ended abut 2000 XP from my dwarf leveling to 1st level KP

Which Ravenloft book?

Which Ravenloft book are the presitiege classes you mentioned in? I did not see them in the main 3rd ed. d20 Ravenloft book.

Thanks for all the advice, im still looking up some of them!

The cavalier also goes well with the wannabe paladin thing, what with the focus on mounted combat and all. Of course, it all depends on how often you get a chance to use a mount in the campaign.

Nonsense! Your character is plenty good enough to be a paladin. He may not be the _optimal_ paladin in smackdown terms, but that's something else entirely.

The days of needing 17 Cha to get in the door are long gone.

I agree with hong, multi into paladin ... big deal you'll only get to use divine health and detect evil ... you'd have a great character to rp with
