Need good resource on monster building

Does anyone know where I might find helpful info/books/tools/guidelines for building a nice, balanced 3.5e monster. I recall that there was a guide or article in Dragon Magazine, but I can't find it.

Anything you can point me to along these lines would be helpful.

It was issue 276, How to Create a Monster by Skip Williams. I thought this was available somewhere on the WOTC website, but I can't find it right now.

Ah yes, thank you. I think I have that issue...I just didn't check back that far.

I'm still on the lookout for any 3.5 monster building advice, although I'm not sure folks have got that far yet. Perhaps I can gather some clues just by studying the 3.5 Monster Manual (by nature, I always check the most obvious place last ).

There happens to be so many 'minor' changes from 3.0 to 3.5 my head spins sometimes. It is great stuff, but it also makes me question everything I thought I had learned.

Monster Handbook has some good options for altering monsters, but that could be used to create new ones.

BTW, this is the exact article from Dragon - it hasn't been updated to 3.5.

The best way is probably to go straight to the source! Try the Monster Manual. If you have your concept, then all the rules are there for you to create away.
