Yes, I know. I also had wanted to trade my fighter levels for racial substitution levels from Races of Stone. Unfortunately, the DM is not giving an inch on the subject of allowed books.insanogeddon said:Deepwarden from Races of Stone is a very strong core strength class.
I'm not seeing this. The various abilities seem minimal to me (once per day etc.) I like my abilities continuous.... Although if you wouldn't mind explaining, I might see the light?insanogeddon said:Stone Lord fits for an older introspective dwarf (and can add a good extra damage sourse for 2wpn fighting and some sweet DC st by con save or scupered spells).
Definately not going to happen. I would be extatic if Races of Stone would be allowed. Draconomicon I'm not even going to try.insanogeddon said:If the dragonomicon is allowed the dragonstalker is pretty sweet but the above are really nice and a bit more spiritual for an older dwarf in touch with his dwarveness.
My groups never work with the SRD. Only official sourcebooks. So it might be in the SRD, but the 'official' version (as far as we are concerned) is in Unearthed Arcana. So again, not allowed.insanogeddon said:Also dwarven paragon levels are in the srd (and unearthe arcarna) and really fit for an iconic dwarf: SRD - Racial Paragon
Although he seems reasonable, he has also observed first hand in one of our other groups what could happen if he gives free reign. It's one of the reasons he's being restrictive. One of the other reasons is that he's a 'story' DM. The more time he needs to spend reading through rulebooks, the less he gets to spend on what he considers most important, which is the story.insanogeddon said:The DM sounds quite reasonable and might really like you taking levels in that 'iconic dwarf' class.
Nice list of (prestige) classes and feats!Dandu said:Perhaps you can draw inspiration from Fistbeard Beardfist.
I'll give it a lookover when I have more time. Although from a first glance, I'm afraid a lot of the options are outside of the allowed books.
One question: why so many ranks in concentration?
