I once read on these boards a post to a blog, where one of the designers said that 3rd edition was unbalanced on purpose. They related magic the gathering to D&D, and saying that they wanted to reward player who read into the rules enough and see what they could figure out. Not trying to start a flame war, just looking for the quote. Thank you.
