Need help on this for my campaign(MY PLAYERS STAY OUT!)

First Post
OK, my game has not only swords and sorcery, but also a heavy anime influence and it does include guns. So, in the current campaign, a dwarven NPC, who has close ties to the PCs, is going to disappear into the wilderness for 7 years and when he emerges, have crafted 7 guns, each of them unique and powerful. I've got two of them done, but I need 5 more, and I'm kinda drawing a blank.

Final Judgment-Judgment was the very first gun created by Bruenor when he left Freeport for the wilderness 7 years ago. Based upon plans given to him by Korak, the god of the forge himself, Judgment was labored over for the better part of the 1st year, inscribed in intricate detail with the symbols of the archangels. A powerful weapon of good, Judgment can only be entrusted into the hands of one who is pure of heart.
Final Judgment is made in the shape of the symbol of the Holy Order(a cross). Covered in intricate patterns, it is as tall as Bruenor(about 4'6" tall), and the firepower issues from the bottom of the cross. It's power is soon to be legendary, sought after by heroes and feared, yet coveted, by fiends: Final Judgement destroys the soul of anything that it kills. Even fiends, who normally reform within the 1000 Hells if they die on another plane, suffer a Final, everlasting death if they fall beneath the bullets of Judgment. For this reason, the weapon must never be allowed to fall into the hands of evil, or those who would turn it on goodly folk.

BaalFang-The last gun crafted by Bruenor, BaalFang was a late addition to the lineup; an angel in the service of Korak, Garaham, was seduced into the service of Baal, and appeared to Bruenor, feeding him the evil designs used in the creation of BaalFang.
BaalFang appears similar to Final Judgment, except that it is crafted from Helliron, the metal of the Hells, and so it appears oddly tarnished, no matter how much it is cleaned. Additionally, anyone staring at the gun will notice obscene symbols in place of the holy symbols on Judgment. At the bottom of the gun, a pentagram with a goat's head within it's boundaries, a classic symbol of Baal, is placed over the barrel of the gun; bullets seem to issue forth from the goat's mouth. Any who are killed by BaalFang are 'marked' with his symbol and sentenced to his realm in the 1000 Hells.

So, any suggestions for new guns? I'm looking for form(please be detailed), effects(such as how Judgment obliterates souls or BaalFang damns them), and a bit of background. They don't all have to be as big as these two(in size or in effect). Any help is certainly appreciated.

Okay, I don't know anything about your campaign world, but I'll give it a shot, maybe you'll get some ideas.

Wind Binder - Wind Binder was the third gun forged by the Dwarf Bruenor. Centuries ago, a meteor from the sky crashed into the earth which was made from a metal no one had ever seen. Only the most skilled and hardened of blacksmiths were able to forge any of the metal within the stone, and a large portion of the stone remained on display in the town square of Giraldina, where a shrine to the god of Stars was erected around it. The demon Krilak'na finally stole the remainder of the unforged material, and brought it down to the forges of Hell. Somehow, the metal resisted all attempts to forge it by whatever demon tried. Finally, Krilak'na threw it back to earth in disgust, convinced that it must be tied to holy powers. The Goddess of the Stars retrieved the metal, and laid it out where Bruenor might find it. While Bruenor slept, she influenced his dreams, instructing him in how to forge the metal, and the final shape that it would take. Wind Binder is a long rifle with a muzzle 10 feet long, and a barrel several inches in diameter. The metal never scratches, and is impossibly light weight. In the dark or in moonlight, patterns of star constellations sparkle across the entire barrel of the weapon. Anyone killed by Wind Binder has their soul bound to the earth, unable to leave. This soul invariably manifests itself as a ghost or a spectre within several weeks, appearing in the area where it was slain.

Very nice; creepy too, because I was actually sitting around writing out names of towns and stuff yesterday, and I actually wrote down Geraldina as a possible name.

Seriously though, that's an awesome gun, it's definitely getting used.

MoonLight. The dwarven artisan Bruenor forged this pistol during the fourth year he spent away from civilization. In the most remote wilderness, he happened upon a warp in reality, a mirror surface which displayed an astral version of its surroundings. From the wispy strads of the Astral, leaking through the pierced universe, he forged a material stronger than steel and yet without weight. And with it, he created MoonLight, a gun which always seems to shine of reflected light even in total darkness. MoonLight is the Platonic idea of pistol, made more of thought than matter. It is weightless and has almost no recoil, and it cannot ever malfunction. Anyone wielding it can take advantage of the Rapid Shot feat; if he or she already has the feat, MoonLight negates the to-hit penalty. Additionally, any bullet fired by MoonLight is made of magic as much as matter. It can strike any creature, ignoring any damage resistance as if it were a +5 weapon.

Hello,

I don't have a specific gun for you, but you may want to check out the following random name generator:

http://www.seventhsanctum.com/gens/theotech.php

It is a "Theotech" named generator, designed to generate random, vaguely religious Anime technology names. It can be set to various specific categories, such as Weapons, Distance. You can check out all the great random generators on this site at:

Hope this helps,

Wouldn't it be easier just to take the guns from F:COA and then modify them to make the special weapons.

Maybe it's riffled so it has an increased range increment.

Maybe it shoots a mass of small balls, decreasing the range increment but increasing the area spread so it comes out to have a shape like a cone spell, with the damage in each square decreasing as you move away. Maybe 4d8 in the first square, 3d8 in the second square, 2d8 in the third square, 1d8 in the fourth square, 1d6 in the fifth square, 1s4 in the sixth square and nothing beyond that range. It would pepper the area.

From Blackshirt's first post, it seemed he was more interested in help coming up with interesting history and back stories to the weapons... not the specific rules on how they worked, so I just stuck to coming up with a concept, you can decide if it does a D8 or a d10. ;)

Here's another one for you Blackshirt...

Pentaform: The fifth gun forged by the master Dwarf Bruenor hides its stength within the puzzle of its iron. Bruenor was inspired for the design of Pentaform when he came across a gnomish design for a magical children's puzzle. It is a masterwork of Dimensional manipulation as well as metal craftsmanship. Pentaform is a small pentagram box. Each facing of the pentagram is in the shape of a 5-pointed star. Anyone who studys the box for too long soon becomes lost in the amazingly complex shape of the thing. Pentaform is forged from pure iron, and is always cool to the touch, no matter the surrounding environment. An amazingly complex series of Dwarven runes decorate every facing of Pentaform. It is 6 inches in diameter in it's normal configuration.

When Pentaform is solved, it transforms into a Gattling Gun with 5 barrels. It is very large, very heavy, and very unweildy. However, the destructive force it unleases can level entire buildings in seconds. The ammunition from Pentaform is created from a pocket dimension inside Pentaform, which also houses the majority of the puzzle itself, although all anyone ever sees is the box itself.

However, there is a second solution to Pentaform. The Gnome that created the design Bruenor used was being influenced by a demon which possessed his spellbook. The Gnome was never able to construct the box before the demon drove him to evil and madness. Thus, a second solution was implanted into the design by the demon. Even Bruenar is unaware that his weapon conceals this secret. The second solution opens the pocket dimension within Pentaform. What destructive force would be unleashed upon the world if this ever happened is a mystery that will hopefully forever remain hidden.

Hopekiller: Bruenor forged his sixth gun on an anvil in the center of the Malazai ruins, wherein occurred the greatest massacre in the world's history. Malazai, a center of ancient civilization, was a thriving metropolis. Five thousand years ago, orcish hordes lay siege to the city, surrounding all trade routes while their shamans sent plague after plague amongst the population. When at last the hordes entered the city, there was not a single living creature left inside: the streets were littered with the diseased, dessicated corpses of the Malazites.

Hopekiller is a massive, wheel-mounted cannon that fires grapeshot. Its muzzle is so wide that attacks should be resolved as cone effects, with a maximum range of 100 feet.

Anyone within the cone suffers two effects. First, the deafening roar is such that victims must make a will save or be affected as if by a fear spell.

Second, and more insidious, the grapeshot fired by the cannon comprises bone pellets from the Malazaites. Anyone injured by the cannon is affected as if by a symbol of hopelessness: they will lie down and quietly await their deaths. This effect may not be dispelled or countered as long as the pellets remain within the victim's body. The pellets may be removed with a successful heal check (DC 20, takes one minute, does 1d4 HP damage) or by the Heal spell.

Peilorinho, I commend you on making me say "eeewww" while reading your post.

I think one reason I love DMing is that I get to come up with insidious things all the time. ;)

YES! I too love coming up with things that will disturb my players.

BTW, these are all great ideas. I'm gonna try to sketch out a few ideas on stats and stuff tonite too.
