Need help with a fun rogue build.

First Post
I have been playing a 2 wep fighting rogue and it has been going well, but recently we have nearly doubled the size of the party and the DM has offered up the chance to change our characters builds.

I have decided that a want to play something other then a "pure" rogue. I don't a fully optimized biuld just something that has an unique feel to it but still keeping the iconic feel of a rogue.

Here is some background info:
The party consist of:
Cleric
Paladin
Fighter (shield and sword)
Fighter (bow)
Ranger (bow)
Ranger (2 wep)
Druid
Wizard
My character is a changeling (monster manual 3) and is lv 4. My stat rolls are as follows. 18 15 15 14 13 9 and then a +1 I can put anywhere.
I need (and want) to stay at least part rogue for traps and lock picking.

My characters background is one of mystery. The party knows little of my past and true nature. I am chaotic neutral and frequently walk on the boarder of what the paladin is axceptable with. I'm also not against throwing a fellow party member in harms way if it saves me but I enjoy danger and a fight.

I want to stay at least part rogue for rp and traps. I have thought about going with an arcane or a thrower build but have also looked at many rogue prestige classes. I would appreciate any ideas or suggestions you might have.

Thank you in advance and sorry for the long post.

Ps all 3.5 books are ok but no sub levels

Spymaster from Complete Adventurer? You get an impenetrable cover identity, and some other non detection stuff, but probably only good in certain campaigns.

Or how about some divination spells?

I have been looking at sword sage and think that it sounds fun. What feats and what discipline would you suggest. I like the feel of shadow hand but what do you guys think?

Shadow Hand is good (even has a feat letting you add some dex bonus to damage), and so is Tiger Claw for some two weapon action. Diamond Mind might have a few things worth a look (if nothing else, you can shore up your weak save with it). The desert one might be a little to "Flashy" but on the other hand has a stance that give you fire resistance (and eventually fire immunity) based on your tumble score, so that's worth grabbing.

If you are going Swordsage you pretty much need Adaptive Style (feat) to refresh all of your maneuvers instead of one measly one. Speaking of which, sword sages can get Extra Readied Maneuver as a feat, which is also very nice.
