I dunno, I liked the apartment analogy. The apartment *building* is middle earth, if you want to get to heaven you need to go to an entirely different building. That is why I liked the analogy, it helps illustrated that the feywild and shadowfell are reflections of our own (fake, D&D) world, and that other planes have their own reflections. I hadn't really bothered with the physical differences, just knowing that a different plane was a different plane and that was enough. That analogy kind of solidified things in my head a little bit.
