Need helping fleshing out "Bible" for a cleric of a Peace God

First Post
OK, folks, I would like to, for role-playing purposes, flesh out a bit of my cleric’s canon (i.e., their Bible, Koran, Torah, etc.) My cleric in Kalamar follows a Neutral Good deity called “The Peacemaker” and their canon is called “The Amities” – it contains songs and stories celebrating peace, friendship, love and the like, while denigrating violence, war and hate. There are two sects within the religion – one is completely pacifistic, while the other will “enforce” the peace, if necessary. My cleric follows the second sect,

What I am drawing a blank on is some parables and songs to be in these Amities. I am not looking for great details, but something that can be summed up quickly, like the Tortoise & the Hare, only one that promotes peace and friendship.

Can anybody help me at all? I am not good with religious texts and, with a 10 month old baby at home and my wife away on business, I do not have time for a lot of research before Friday night.

Thanks a lot.

What a great question.

Let's see. Is this book supposed to be totally divine canon (Peacemaker saith ..) or is it written by prophets or emissaries (Book of Berend the Benificent chapter 1, verse...)?
In a D&D world the distinction can be critical.
I'm guessing the latter, if it's songs and parables. Might be some of both - and something left up to the cleric in question to resolve. Since there are sects, it might well be there are parts your cleric reads and parts they read between. For songs, you could have something like responsories to cover the basics.

Bring only peace to your fellow man.
we bring peace, and peace is our strength

Bring alms to the needy and charity to the devout
we bring peace, and peace is our strength

Bring the puissance of the Peacemaker in all your orisons

And so on and so on. Just those examples are nebulous enough to create a half dozen sects. Bring peace? Peace = strength. That mean wholesome uprightness type strength or heavy mace type strength? Use Peacemaker's power to cast spells. Fair enough. Does that mean no unpeaceful flame strikes or what? For parables, there's a lot out there. Just one example.

So our boy Berend is walking through the woods one day, and he comes along a burning twig there that could start a fire. Since it's a parable, he grabs that twig in his hand and holds on tight 'till it's out - even though it singes a bit. The parable is that by employing his convictions in the face of burny adversity, he averts something bad. He's all tranquil, and that quietly overcomes the untranquil flame.,
Or maybe it means Peacekeeperites should smother bad things.

Sure there's big E Evil and big G Good, and then there's grey mere mortals deal with on the way to being heroes. Chainmail grey. Pewter grey. Grey render grey. Grey ooze grey.
:)

Here's something, a hymn maybe.

Blessed is the Peacemaker, and blessed is his peace. Blessed are the peaceful. Blessed are those who protect the peaceful, and blessed are those who are not themselves peaceful, but who keep the peace. Peace on them. Blessed is the land that holds the peaceful. Peace on this land. Blessed are the animals that feed the peaceful, the water that sustains them.

Blessed are the people of peace. Blessed is Peace. Blessed is the Peacemaker.

Ideas

OK, I know this is an old thread, but I hope your peacemaker is still alive :)

May know this already, but there are some great ideas for this character in the Book of Exalted Deeds, inc very appropriate feats.

Connors (diff Connors to the one who has already posted and does those way-cool monster things ;))
