• Steampunk Tablet - Spell Book in Tablet form
• Vacuum Tube Spells - Spells locked in a vacuum tube, break it to release the spell - tubes can be added to devices to provide spell like functions - staff, wand, etc.
• SteamPunk Computer - Heads in a jar, but can help do complex spells and run auto-defense systems of an evil overlord complex - link back to the tablet above.

One thing to keep in mind though, once a society develops a technology that can do a given job, it is much less likely to revert to less efficient or older or more labor intensive technology to do that same, or similar, job afterwards.

And this is even more true of players. When all you have is a giant mechanised flame-thrower golem, every problem starts to look flammable.
