Need some help related to players

One guy with the 4 kids and the full time job and going to school full time ...well, he has a lot on his plate. The other guy who owns his own business and in a month or two he has to drop out of gaming becasue the work increases to like 90 hours a week for him, so he wants to get some home improvement projects done before that happens. Me, I have nothing but time.

Catch me? My posting habits have fallen to a fraction of what they used to be. I used to post about 5-10 times more in my hay day.

I like one shots, but many of the players perfer a campaign where they play the same character, see the growth and development of it all. So, we save the one shots for Con season.
Ouch. I'll assume you've looked into other gaming opportunities, but one-shots are better than no-shots. I think.

And you know you currently average 22 posts per day, right? You used to average more than that?

I really haven't looked into other gaming situations. I keep an eye out for people in the area looking for a game, but I haven't advertised myself.

Ya, my average was higher. I've also had quitea few posts deleted during the great message board prune last year. I used to work at a place that I could serf the net, so I was on EN World while I was at work and really posted a lot then.

I've actually wondered the same thing. There really should be a gamers seeking gamers database somewhere. Not just a message board, but an actual online database with feedback, etc.

If no one knows of one, maybe some people here can get together and create one.
I saw one a few years ago. Don't remember the URL, though.

There's RPG Registry, but it seems to me that EN World's Gamers Seeking Gamers and WotC's Gamer Classifieds forums see a whole lot more traffic. Though it probably doesn't help that the latest "site news" item on RPG Registry is from 2002.

I find the Players seeking Players forum in this sight difficult to find anything quickly. A lot of people don't put where they are from in their Title, and it would help immensely if people put State and then City very first in their listing.

I ran across http://dnd.meetup.com/ while searching for a gaming group in my area. Within 2 weeks of joining there, we had 9 people in one game, and at least 2 other games of 5+ people going on.

Doing a quick check on the zip for Medina, OH, I came up with a group of 37 in Akron, 48 in Cleveland, and 9 in Canton.

Give it a check out.

i've used the WotC forums, the gamers seeking gamers forum here on ENWurld, and www.accessdenied.net. all with success.

by far the WotC classifieds has been the most useful.

although, i get emails/IMs out of the clear blue from all sorts of gamers in the area.

Players seeking Players forum good. Used it myself and found a cool guy we added to our saturday game currently. I would also go with the local gaming store. Maybe post a note of some sort, if they have a bulletin board, and hopefully that works out. If you have a decent paper locally there's the semi-desperate add in the paper seeking out potential gamers. Especially if you think you won't find any nearby the online route. All are possible avenues, so good luck with that.

Schnikeys Crothian!!! That's a lot of posting time. Are you currently working with your 22+ posts a day nowadays?
