I have to agree - great show. I was really disappointed when it ended.

I was particularly impressed with the cast. That many of them were playing different roles each week made it feel like a theater company was doing the episodes.

We have all the DVDs, and love them. We've also read all the books, and I think it's a tribute to the A&E series that we've been really impressed by how they translated the books to the screen.

I read most of the books (and I think about them every time I see Orchids at the local market), but only saw about 8 or so episodes. Good show. I didn't even know it was cancelled, as it was a fairly low priority in my Tivo and just seemed to come up every once in a while.
