I don’t feel like there’s any need for it to be radical. It’s an exciting story against a cool backdrop, and a reminder that the future isn’t always an impenetrable black box.
 


I know. I’m talking about it as a story viewed now. There’s a bunch of stuff there that’s still quite distinctive and some likely to resonate with a particular freshness now, regardless of what’s been on screen before.
 

Wrong director. This needs a bigshot like Ridley Scott or Chris Nolan or Denis Villeneuve. From watching clips of his work, I can tell J.D. Dillard lacks the talent to manifest the deep themes in Neuromancer. Hopefully the cast can carry it.
