New Batman animated movie.

The movie also plays a bit of a shell game with its timeline-Barbara Gordon is a young college student, infatuated with Bruce Wayne, while Robin is a young boy, barely into his teens, and is never referred to as Dick or Tim.

I wonder if this is supposed to be the same Robin from Teen Titans since that Robin doesn't seem to be the same one from Batman?

Sounds cool -- if for no other reason than the fact that I enjoyed that series and miss it :)

The story/plot does seem a little questionable in terms of my liking it.... but, as said, I would enjoy the walk down memory lane for something new from that same set of folks :)

Isn't the Teen Titans Robin Tim Drake?

Just so I'm sure, the Batman series went from Dick Grayson to Tim Drake, skipping the Jason Todd Robin, correct?

And did they call the Titans' Robin "Tim"? I didn't catch that if they did. It just seems like a different, possibly younger, character to me.

Actually, I recall someone from Titans' being asking how this show relates to Batman and he replied that this Robin has no connection to the earlier series. Not quite sure what that means, but I thought it was a weird wording. It made it sound like Batman doesn't exist in this world or that this Robin didn't take part in any of the previous adventures.

It's quite possible he just meant that we should look for anything from the previous series to cross-over or for a Batman guest appearance.

Wait a minute! Now that I think about it, wasn't Titans' once advertised as taking place in the near future or something? IIRC there was a "Why not just do a Legion of Superheroes series?" debate on these very boards.

Or am I confusing it with something else?

The Batman series skipped Todd, yes. Tim Drake of TAS is kind of
an mix of the comics' Jason and Tim. Basically, Jason Todd's origin
but without the whiney personality. Also, the Tim Drake of TAS is
much younger (like 12-13) than the comic version (which was IIRC
about 15 when he became Robin).

As I took it, the TT Robin is TAS's Tim Drake, just that the two
series won't interconnect much. I'm not saying I understood it
correctly, though.

Well, if they gave Tim Drake Jason Todd's origin, maybe they'll have a new Robin be Jason Todd with Tim Drake's origin, or some other origin story? Either that, or it's just a show on its own, and doesn't fit into the animated DC universe continuity (Batman, Superman, Justice League) at all. Which is a shame, as I'd like to see the two of them have a cross-over. Of course, if it's a new Robin, then it's after the events of Return of the Joker, which means the Joker's dead. And shouldn't Batman be walking with a limp, now? I'm a bit hazy about that movie, as I haven't seen it in a while, so I may be wrong about that.
