And Bryan Singer was attached to the movie project prior to the Sci Fi channel series actually, I think the article is getting that backwards for whatever that's worth, which isn't likely much.
I know that Glen Larson has wanted to bring his version to the big screen. I would not mind that it is a great story and I liked the mythology of the original more than the reboot. Take away the trappings of the 70s way if doing SF TV and it really is good space opera.
I just hope they stay away from the reboot which was more a drama with SF trappings and while an excellent story in the first two seasons I don't think they need to revisit it that soon.
Does seem a bit quick but you have to remember that movies are more and more meant for overseas markets. The tv show got shown on a couple of specialty channels here in Japan but largely ignored.
