As for Louis Gossett Jr, I've seen his work nationally, and he's good. I'm glad he is able to make a career comeback. I mean, if John Travolta and Edward James Olmos have restarted their careers, why can't he?

As for Beau Bridges, the last I've seen him was that short-lived CBS CIA-based series, The Agency.

In any case, I'd rather reserve judgment for now.

My only fear is that, as the Old SG-1 Dynamic is probably pretty much dead now,
that they won't be able to establish a new interesting one.

Well, it's not like NBC's ER, which managed to stay on top despite a revolving door approach to casting fresh younger actors to replace the aging and original cast. Personally, I think SG-1 have peaked and is now going downhill. You can only drag the series for so long before audience have grown tired of it.

I don't care for either actor, but I can see Bridges having a similar character to Davis. I wonder if Jack is going to be assigned to the Alpha site. Which would be a major improvment since he has turned snarky and annoying this last season (maybe too much paper work).
