New character class discussion

Q1000

First Post
I am adding the Thug NPC class to e-tools. Here is a starting list of the data base locations I have added to and why.

Info Class: Contains the base description of the class.

Info Class features: Contains details of the class special abilities, basicaly it lists the ability, what level it comes in to play and if it gains extra dice or usages per level than that is shown as well. This is linked to the following. Info features: where the special abilities are located. this describes the ability and has the varable for level based abilities. EX Sneak attack reads"Sneak Attack +%dd6" So in the Info class feature screen sneak attack is listed for each level where it increases and the % varaible is also increased to reflect the number of D6s rolled using the data column.

Info Features: This lists all the character based special abilities and is linked to Lookup feature group and lookup feature type.

So far I have the basic thug npc class up. My next goal is to add the class skill listing, and remaining special ability. Will post more.

Have worked out the class skills via the Info Class Skills in the data base.
I basicaly walked around and looked at all the rogue entries till I got an idea for scope, the next goal is a prestige class.

Don't suppose you want to write a full step-by-step, Q1000? I think it would go a long way for getting the classes in if more people knew how to do it, and apparently for many, a cursory explaination of what things to look for is not enough. :)

If you don't have time, I may tackle it myself today. Oh joy. :)

How are you manipulating the database? Are you directly working in the .mdb or are you using ETHelper and working in the .xml?

[edit]
Nevermind, it's done through the .mdb

I went ahead and spat out a long-winded, sketchy, probably full of mistakes, explaination at the other message thread:
