New Character ideas

With that stat array you can afford to take some chances with off the wall concepts:

- A goblin raised by a overly gracious cleric who has grown up to be a Paladin. Take Ranged Smite from Book of Exalted Deeds, Mounted Combat, and Mounted Archery and snipe from the back of your Dire Bat mount.

-Permanently Enlarged Dwarf Soulborn(MoI)/Ranger named "Wall" whose clan was wiped out by giants.

-Lizardfolk Druid with giant crocodile animal companion who has been banished from his tribe until he can return with the answer to a holy riddle.

-Elven Beguiler who is actually a bounty hunter, uses Urban Tracking to find his target and then charms (w/ Spell Focus: Enchantment) them into an ambush.

- I was also going to suggest an Aasimar Warlock, but then your DM wont allow it, just for the juxtaposition of the two elements.

Since you use 4d6 drop lowest, and happen to have good stats, I suggest a class that requires high stats to play well. Thus I would recommend Monk or Monk/Paladin, for example.

I just wanted to say thanks for all the ideas guys! You've all given me loads to mull over :) Keep them coming though, if you have an idea that hasn't already been shared!

Ahrimon - I love that Idea, though I'm not sure since there is already a cleric and 2 other spellcasters...

Everyone who suggested things out of MoI (yes I have it), but I had forgotten all about it, not sure if my DM has it or not so I'll have to ask! :)

As for the Tome of Magic - Binders. I haven't spent very much time looking at them or the Vestiges really. I know amethal said he loved playing it, anyone else with experience there?

How about a Bard. I know it weas suggested before; however, I have a few suggestions to make things interesting for a while:

1) Make him/her schitzophrenic. A bard that thinks s/he is a Paladin/Illusionist/Duskblade/Cleric of Orcus/gay fashion designer/Steve Urkel/ whatever (or any multiple combination of these) with the change-overs being caused by stressfull situations like combat, the death of a party member, having a trap affect him, etc would be a blast to play, and would keep the rest of the party on their toes.

(I know for a fact it is fun to play, because I did this very thing. A Human Bard/Paladin/ Gnome Illusionist/ Steven Urkel crybaby with no skills/Gay Fashion Designer was an absolute blast to play... however, it can get old rather quickly if the DM has you changing too quickly.)

I think this is the coolest concept I have come across all week.

Truenamer/artificer could be an interesting gestalt combo. The artificer can use the Skill Enhancement to give a circumstance bonus to Truespeak, and can use the craft reserve to make the competence bonus wondrous item. Unfortunately, there are no gains made in skill points, HD, saves, or BAB, but at least both run primarily on Int.

Edit: I only just realized that this wasn't in the thread I thought it was. Nothing to see here. :)

Hey Everybody! Ok so my character died DED last night in my regular game, and while he was a blast to play, we don't have the resources to raise him (Stonechild (RoS) are outsiders so we'd need Limited Wish/Wish/Miracle/True Res & we're just 9th level)...

I rolled a pretty sweet set of stats on 4d6 drop lowest, but I'll admit it... I'm kind of out of ideas for characters. here are the stats: 17, 14, 16, 15, 11, 12. 8th level, standard wealth. Books available: any WotC except MIC as our DM doesn't have it yet & Tome of Battle as I'm not enamored with that book... Oh and our DM has recently banned Warlocks so none of those either :)

Please give me ideas people! I've pretty much played every role lately (wizards, clerics, fighters, rogues) so I'm not really partial to one right now, which is why I need help I think... I have 2 weeks before our next session.

THANKS!!

Some thoughts...

Wiz 3/Archivist 3/MT 2 - It's different.
Battlesorcerer 8 - Only because I love the class and we're discussing it in another thread.
Duskblade 8 - Some overlap with the spellcasters and some with the melee guys.

Thanks,
Rich

A Human Warlock with a focus on Diplomacy.

A Druid with the Shapeshift variant class ability. I like the idea of Neanderthal for this...

A Dwarven Fighter (racial sub levels) with lots of Craft ranks...
