New Chessex Mat has lines/stains/marks. Is it normal?

Hello, just received a brand new Chessex Megamat. It has a lot of these stains that look line lines, almost like scratch marks. It looks fairly natural, not like stained from markers. But there are also a lot of them and I'm wondering if they are always like this.

Pretty sure mine have them too but maybe not as many or as prominent as the ones on yours. I think its just the nature of the tan color vinyl.

Yes, those are completely normal. No, most of them don't have quite that many when they are new.

Think of it as aged parchment texture.
