New Default Setting: Forgotten Realms?

Precisely, Angcuru, and may I admit I'm hardly the first person to think of it. I remember there was a minor controversy about this when 3E was coming out and the announcement was made that GH would be the default.

This reminds me of a year or so ago when Pool of Radiance came out. You could buy a deluxe edition that came with the 3E PHB. I thought to myself at the time: Some poor 12 year old is going to buy this and say, "Who's this Mordenkainen loser? What's a Heironeous? WTF! And where are the DROW?!?!?".

Another thing to consider:
If they made the FR the standard campaign setting, it wouldn't change much. They couldn't squeeze all the FR content into the three core rulebooks, and you would end up with 4 core rules: Players Handbook, Dungeon Master's Guide, Monster Manual, and Campaign Setting.

Just as we have now, though parts of the FRCS content would be spread over the other 3 core rulebooks.
