new divination(?) spell ;) maybe

Level: Clr 1
Components: V, S, DF
Casting Time: 1 standard action
Range: Touch
Target: Creature touched
Duration: 1 round/level
Saving Throw: Will negates (harmless)
Spell Resistance: Yes


Each round for the duration the recipient of this spell chooses its effect. It grants an insight bonus equal to one number already in place for the character (max +5). Examples of this would be the following:

4 ranks in a skill, gain +4 insight bonus.
+3 base reflex saving through, +3 insight bonus
12 str, +5 insight bonus to str
30 base speed, +5 insight bonus to speed
etc

Now I realize that it isnt terribly well balanced, I would like some help with it as i really love the basic idea of it. Maxing out at +5, and having a named bonus, plus being a very short duration should all make it be pretty useful in some way. Lots of fun uses, most of which arent incredibly overpowered.

Would love some help to make it more clear in what it does!

I like the idea, but I have difficulty seeing how you could apply an insight bonus to something like Str or movement rate. My first thought is to say change the school to Trans-m.

I think that if you posted the fluff, it would give me a better idea of what the spell should/shouldn't be able to do, and where to level it at.

Humans arent always very good at useing all of their muscles in proper coordination. For the duration of the spell the target gains the ability to actually have all of his body act in unison for whatever he needs to be doing. For the skills it is a simple matter of having a good feeling of what would work and what wont, but it acts in a similar manner. Movement works in the same way, knowing just where to place your feet for the maximum amount of benefit. It isnt like the speed increase is huge after all.

I am hopeing to make a diviner/cleric with a lot of divination spells that do intersting things. Personally I think this spell could be modified only slightly and go into a lot of different schools.. transmutation, abjuraction, necromancy, divination, possibly more. But since I am going for a diviner currently, and insight bonus I think could be made to work with a proper explanation.... ;)

Basically it is designed to make someone slightly better at whatever they are trying to do for the duration. Want to run a little faster to get ahead of your foe or comrade? go for it. Want to be just a little better at picking that lock? cool. Want to be just a little better at hitting that target with your bow? all right. It is an all purpose spell that can be cast on anyone in the party to get some benefit out of it.

I was going to make 3 total. This one, one the next level up with a duration of 1min/level, and another one more level up with 1 target/level all within 30feet.

Hope that helps some. If I can get a good working version that is fairly well worded I'll be able to show it to my dm and give him the final say. Would like to have any kinks in wording and power level worked out by then though ;)
