New DM seeking a good premade campaign

If you want a piratey, Chtulhu-esque setting why not run the Freeport adventures, continue with Tales of Freeport and then Black Sails over Freeport? After that you could run Hell in Freeport I guess but it IS a troublesome module.

For campaign length dungeon crawls, I personally like the Banewarrens (Malhavok) and Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil (WotC). Both take the character from lower levels ( 4-6 in my case) through to their mid teens and beyond.

They both are written by Monte Cook and have great story arcs. Banewarrens is a little tougher to locate due to its unique city setting, but RttToEE can fit in almost any world.

Game On

A note of warning on the Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil; get (wait for??) the 3.5 version. There is an errata, but it literally is bigger than the original book. There is so much that needed fixing to get it into 3.5.

Also, the maps will drive you CRAZY! They are all nicely drawn, but the grids rarely match up with things. You end up with 7.5 foot wide hallways, 22.5 foot doors, and what have you. I would strongly advise that you remake all the maps in mapping software so that they fit the 5' grid. It will make life SO MUCH easier for you!

I'll second RttToEE and the Banewarrens. I've run both and they were both amazing, but there are some 3.5 problems. Luckily, Monte's forums has huge fan-based support for both, including a 3.5 update (including BoVD stuff if you want it) and suggestions on how to replace the CRM with the Banewarrens, thereby making that section INTERESTING ;)

Dang! Anyone have a link to the 3.5 RttToEE announcement? I am lazy and don't care enough to search for it, but might buy it just to 3.5 my collection.

I just want to chime in and add my voice to necromancer games products. personally i would suggest Lost city of Barakus. Should take you from lvl 1-5 easily, propably even higher. It is not only dungeon but a setting with some wilderness and city encounters thrown in, wich make for a great change of pace. My players are on their way to Endhome now (all 1st lvl) and i have high hopes for it.
