I guess that begs the question - what's Erik have lined up? Is he lightening the load, or finally moving to WotC R&D?

Eric is the Augustus Caesar of Paizo (AC held every high political office in Rome). Eric had three titles: Editor in Chief Dragon, Editor in Chief Dungeon, and Publisher.

Thats a lot of work and responsiblity.
James has proved more than capable, and so Eric could let up. Now he can focus on making Dragon good.

The truth though is, there is a lot of crossover. James and Erik work on a lot of stuff together. While Erik gets a lot of the credit for turning both magazines around, the silent partner is James.

I don't think Erik is going anywhere. He has more control and power to influence the game at Paizo than he ever would at WotC. At Paizo he can do what he wants, at WotC I think he would get tired of that job PDQ.

Just my thoughts though.
