New feat for Oriental Ninja

It would be if I ever had players who would put a decent into wisdom, but as it is the only one with more then three points is the monk.

I really started using them so that I as a dm could have a legal way to fudge dice rolls with my npcs

I show all my rolls, so a bad roll is a bad roll, unless I can reroll it etc. We expanded void points to be like karma/fate/luck/ or whatever you call it.

Now we have changed a few of the classes to have void powers, kind of like limited special abilities really, but it has been fun and I have enjoyed it.

Actually when I think about it, my homebrew rules for my campaign is about fifty pages long. So yeah perhaps what fits in my campaign wouldnt work in everyones.

Of course that is why we have feeback.

I set it up so that charaters who take the feat have their Wis modifier in Void Points (min 1). Then you gain an additional void point every 4 levels.
Depths of the Void gives Wis. mod divided by 2 (min 2) each time you take it.

I was also considering having some of the abilities run almost like psionic feats. You know, like how Inertial Armor stays up so long as you have 1 PP left and all that jazz...

That's an interesting idea, but I'd be careful setting them up like psionic feats. Psion run out of their points becasue that's what the class does, where in the way your doing it, the void points are bonus and the Pcs don't need to spend them for their character to function. Unless the PCs burn through the void points ever adventure.....

This is what I did for my campaign. I used the Rokugan book to find feats that used void points. I then took those feats and made less powerful versions for things that the average person could do using void points. So while all people may be able to do something, the person who takes the ability as a feat will be able to do it much better.

Touching the Void

Each character has the ability to focus their inner strength. By doing this they can touch the Void, a force that can be used to channel special skills and powers. A character has a number of Void points equal to 3 + Wisdom Modifier. If a character has a Wisdom Modifier penalty, they may be unable to channel Void energies.

Void points can be used to do such things as:

1 point Add a +5 competence bonus to any single saving throw roll.

1 point Gain spell resistance 10 against magical effects which allow no save.

1 point Add +1 to the result of any skill roll.

1 points On a spell you cast, raise the DC to overcome it by 1 point.

1 point On a spell cast on you, lower the DC to resist it by 1 point.

3 points Re-roll any 1 dice that determines a result. You must use this power before knowing whether the result of the roll was a success or not. This ability may not be used to re-roll damage dice.

3 points If you use the Total Defense Action, you may make an immediate attack against any opponent that misses you. You must declare you are using this ability at the beginning of the round. You may only use this once per round.

7 points You may gain the use of a single feat for 1 round. You do not need to meet the perquisites of the Feat in order to use it.

Other uses may be allowed if accepted by the DM.

This is what I have done in my campaign, and it has worked pretty well for the game and for the style of play I enjoy.

So, I was thinking on this last night and have come to a conclusion. For a ninja, this void power is the equivalent of a virtual feat, you get it even if you don't have the prerequisites. However for anyone else wanting to take the feat, the prerequisites will be the ones above mentioned.

Sound good? Now this does bring up a second question. Since Shuriken are a dishonorable weapon used by ninja, what other character would use this feat?
