Do you think Enduance is needed from a balance perspective, or just for flavor?

I think for balance it needs something. I don't like BAB becasue that's offensive, and this feat isn't. Endurance was the best out of the PHB feats, IMO. I also do like the flavor of having Endurance. I think you could make an interesting reason as to why dwarves can do this using it, but balance is the main issue. Increased movement on the battle field is very good.

Edit: also realize that a normal dwarf has a base speed of 20. So would a dwarf with this feat and mithral full plate. That is very impressive.

Fair enough. I hate making players waste a feat slot, which is all Endurance is. Would upping the Con requirement to 17+ keep me from having to do that?

Well, mithal is very light, so it isn't that impressive. Consider adamantine full plate; that's impressive. Still, after spending 3 feats to wear armor well (heavy + this + enduance) he should be impressive.

First off, Endurance is the most underrated feat in the books. It's very useful, it's just the most people (PCs and DMs) ignore those rules. You can't blame a feat because people ignore the rules.

Three feats is not impressive. That's a first level fighter, or a human cleric or Paladin. I'm not argueing that mithrasl is not cool, but you might not want the ability to be as fast naked and in full plate be the this easy to aquire.

How is it useful? It gives +8 virtual Con when running, fast marching, holding your breath, or resisting the effects of weather exposure. What else does it do?

Edit: Actually it isn't even that good, because the virtual Con doesn't apply to how long you have until you need to start making checks.

All the feat does is make them just as fast as any other medium sized creature in medium or heavy armor. Dwarves are still slow for medium sized creatures.

I think it's fine the way it is - not every dwarf is going to take it, just those who wear medium or heavy armor. Consider the Dash feat (Song & Silence). No requirements, and your speed increases by 5 if you're wearing light or no armor and are lightly encumbered. Same general effect but even more useful.

Actually, now that I think about it, I'd alter the requirements of your version to be simply "Race: Dwarf (or subrace)". It would be fine by me.

I house ruled dwarven overland movement to be greater than their base speed would suggest, since they get jacked there. (Can't remember what I ruled it TO, but that's beside the point...)

Stocky, Not Slow [General, Fighter]
Prerequisites: Con 15+, Dex 13+, heavy armor proficiency,
medium size, base speed 20.
Benefit: When wearing medium or heavy armor, your base speed is not reduced from 20 to 15. However, your run speed is still reduced when wearing heavy armor, and your speed is still reduced due to encumbrance.
Normal: A character with base speed 20 has his or her movement reduced to 15 while wearing medium or heavy armor.

I think this feat is weak for the requisites necessary to get this feat
(Con 15+, Dex 13+, heavy armor proficiency). In my oppinion the utility is limitated, and the price to get this feat is relativelly high. However, if the encumbrance was included, so this is another history

I disagree. Any dwarf with a level of fighter, paladin or cleric automatically has three necessary prerequisites. And it has already been covered that 13 Dex and 13 (+2 racial = 15) Con isn't that tough for a Fighter, although it is fairly high for a cleric.

If I added encumbrance, I would definately have to add the Endurance feat. Maybe add a contingency that if you do have the Enduance feat, it would apply to encumbrance.

I think a Dex prereqis wrong. The prereq should be Str instead.

I think the feat is fine. Feats are very precious for non-humans at low levels. At medium or higher levels there are many options for improving mobility; this one is not a particularly strong one.

Perhaps slightly weak, but it is a reasonable option for some characters.
