New Feats: Spell Power, Greater Spell Power(Revised,More Feats added)

I can't argue specifically why the top one should be 12th and not 9th. It just seems like too much, too soon. 3rd and 9th is definitely out, at least in my book. 5d4 (Burning Hands) is a lot of damage for a 3rd-level caster to be dishing out. So maybe go with 6th and 9th.

About the 'greater skill level', I see what you mean, but at the same time, you should recognize that increasing caster level only helps the character's top-end spells. It's kind of silly to think that a 10th level character could have invested two feats solely for improving fire magic and get no benefit when he casts a fireball.

Well, seeing as how a 3rd level caster can deal 4d6 damage with Scorching Ray, without a save and only requiring a touch attack that your probably going to make, I dont think its to big a deal
That being said, 6th and 9th would be more symmetrical...but I dont think 3rd would be problematic from a balance perspective.

Thats why it does three things. Adds spells to your list, adds to caster level, and adds to save DC. that way pretty much any spell you have of the apropriate type is getting some sort of benefit...and it has the overall benefit of letting you learn spells you otherwise couldnt (spells like Produce Flame, Flame Strike, Call Lightning, Firestorm, stuff like that).

Scorching Ray is only single target... but I concede the point. 3rd and 9th might be acceptable.

Um, Energy Affinity only adds to your caster level. If you're going to tack on save DC boosts and additional spells known, then these feats are going to get ridiculous in a hurry.
 

Your right, I was confused with another post. I do have a feat that does all those things (to a small extent) but it has pretty hefty requirements.
I have a lot of posts on multiple boards...some times I get confused :-)
