While I'm very happy to see that they will be releasing and promoting Star Wars figures, and I'm thrilled that from what I've seen, most will be useful, there are a couple things that not only get under my skin, but burrows deep, makes a nest, and lays eggs:
First is the fact that one of the marketing panels stated that boosters would have 7 miniatures for $12.99 USD (Well over $20 CND, which means I'll have to E-Bay for any and all miniatures). While I knew there would be a rather drastic price increase at some point, I don't like the 'sly tactic' of taking one miniature out of the booster.
It always gets on my nerves when companies start reducing volume, number, or size of product instead of upping the price, but in this case we have not only a disturbingly high price increase, but one less miniature? These things better have some incredible paintjobs to warrant that price.
Second seems to be that there will be 'Very Rare' figures. I already deal with stupidly inflated prices on E-bay for rares, and I'm afraid that these Very Rare figures will have some of the more useful and cool miniatures among their ranks. (I could be wrong! Hell, I hope I am wrong).
If the 'Very Rares' are simply iconics, or ones you likely won't need armies of, like Darth Vader, that wouldn't rub me so wrong, but somehow I'd be willing to bet that the Imperial Guard, or even Sith Lords are among the very rares, and that will mean a lot less chance of getting them, since they are 'rarer than rare' and would actually have to take the place of a rare figure in a pack.
But overall, I do like what I see, I'm just bugged by this suspicious price increase and one less figure per box. On the D&D side, the figures look quite good, but in my opinion the Glabzebru is wholly lacking.. Anemic lower arms, and a great lack of detail in the claws (At that size, there isn't an excuse for lack of detail, unless its a mold process thing). Then again, I realize these are some very early looks at these miniatures, so I'm reserving full judgement.
