Hi everyone,

I just wanted to introduce myself before I started posting on stuff. Name's Mike, been gaming for about 18 years. Started with D&D 2nd Edition and the old D&D rules compendium edition. I thought 3rd edition and 3.5 did great things for the game all around and was unhappy with the way the direction the game took in 4th ed. I have also run/played Beyond the Supernatural, Gurps, Hero's Unlimited, Palladium RPG, and a few other games. I've taken shots at playing most every rpg but have stayed mostly content with good ol D&D.

The last few years I have probably only played D&D a handful of times. My interest has shifted to tabletop miniatures games (not chainmail...lol) such as warhammer 40k and it's fantasy counterpart. Which brings me around to my point, anyone else here play 40k? And are people gonna mind if I post my 40k related painting/sculting/modding stuff? Is there going to be any interest in this kind of info or should I just stick to RPG topics and keep my yapper shut about other types of games?

Let me know what ya think folks,
Mike

Hey Mike, not aware about the 40k fandom on here, but I don't think I remember seeing it before.

Welcome though, I hope you stick around.

Never played myself, though I always wanted to try. My brother played a lot, but I never actually watched him (or anyone for that matter) play it either. I am, however, playing a lot of 4e.

Why the decrease in D&D gaming? Are the miniatures games just more appealing for now?

Oh, and welcome to ENW ;)

Well, there's a forum for talking about painting [along with other art stuff], but there really isn't anything specific for WH40K, that I've seen.

Best thing I can say is that you might as well try posting a little bit, test the waters as people say, and see what sort of response you get. Sometimes you get only a nibble and sometimes you get a huge bite. But either way, no one is going to mind if you post stuff about such topics.

Welcome aboard Mike.

My personal opinion is that this place is large enough that I'm fairly sure you'll find someone who shares your interest in whatever it is that you enjoy.

Besides, to me, a place doesn't have to remain static or unchanging. The best sites on the internet change, expand, and evolve over time. I think of this as a pretty versatile, interesting, and enjoyable place. As a good site. So whereas I don't play the game you mentioned I'm pretty sure someone here does. And it probably won't take you long to find them.

I think you'll probably like this place.
