Born December 24, 1981.

I started roleplaying of sorts with Talislanta 2nd edition, when I was, like, 8 years old. I was the GM, sorta, though we had no dice, or even the rulebook. I just had the Naturalist's Guide (read: Monster Manual) and the campaign setting, and the biggest fight we had was when my one player shapeshifted into a Dragon and killed the king Dragon of the Saurads.

Later, I played the Star Trek roleplaying game with my brother and a couple other friends, then moved on to Mechwarrior, and finally, in the second half of 8th grade (age 14). I have introduced gotten 16 people to play through my games. Do I win a prize?

(David, Nathan, Ryan S., Jacob, Jessica, Georgia, Nic, Chad, Justin, Neil, Raul, Leena, Hamid, Matt, Kasia, and Holly)

I'd say I'm probably one of the younger posters here, with '88, and barely, if I had been born about 20 1/2 hours later, I'd have been in 1989.

1973. And we're soon creeping up on the the anniversary of the day I entered this world. Not sure what day it was I started playing. Pretty sure it was in the summer, though. But then that's a different poll that shows up every so often...

Born 1981. Seems odd to me that there's a bunch of people here who've been playing longer than I've been breathing.

Born in 72. Rest assured, no one would have been impressed by my gaming in 1981 even though I can remember doing it. I think it took me a few years to realize that I needed more friends if I was going to game 'for real'. I was more a Squad Leader with dad kid back then anyways, the other major life-changing purchase back in 3rd grade. Dad wouldn't play D&D, but he'd kill Nazis with me.

It's interesting for me as a nerd to note that we seem to have a pretty nice normal distribution going in this thread... Of course, I will leave it to somebody else to analyse the statistical significance of that...

It's interesting that there seem to be a great many 81's on here, o whihc I am one... and sometimes it's weird when you see some familiar names (ie regular posters) and your mental image of them shifts dramatically because you thought they were older/younger...
