The iconics never really appealed to me. They need quirks and character flaws that make them seem real- and believable. Then someone can associate with them.
i guess they never really had time to establish themselves in DND- thus- they are not icons yet.
echoing Agamon- they should be easily recognisable.
Heck- if they did not wear their cloathes (mmm Vadania) I wouldn't be able to tell her apart from mialee...
I've never cared for them. The only Iconics I've half way liked werre Ember and Tordek. The rest of them were just to quirky for me. Mialee could use a little more clothing, Vandania (sp?) looks too anime for me, and Hennet looks like he is dressing in bondage clothing.

If you want to get a feel for the Iconics quirks and character flaws then you should read the D&D books by T.H. Lain. Each one is a self contained story and not overly long. Fun, simple RPG-inspired reading.
I've read the first two and all I will say is that Lidda has quite the little mouth on her and Devis is, well, let just say he's quite the charmer with the ladies (well, at least... naw, I'm not going to say).
