New Iron Game potential?

I thought of a game, myself.

Iron Item.

Basicly, you take a magical item (Weapon, Armor, Ring, Misc), an ingredient regarding the power, then some Judge additional stuff.

The judge additional stuff would have to do with the background info.

I don't know how easy this would be at judging, but it's atleast a thought, hey? :)

Here's my idea:

Iron NPC:

Input Given:
- Race
- Primary Class
- Six starting ability rolls
- Four CRs
- Six Ingredients

Output Required:
Post one stat block for each CR, and a story connecting them. Incorporate the six elements in the story.

(Why use CR instead of level? First, it makes ECL races easier to deal with. Secondly, it allows multiclassing.)

My only beef with that is, dang if doing stat blocks isn't tedious enough. :)

I used PC-Gen to make the stat blocks I used in IronPC. It's got some very nifty export options.

If you choose not to do that, remember that each stat block will differ only marginally from the one before it.

I tried to download them from the site, and I think I broke my computer. O.o

I still have the origional PC gen... I think.

I'd love to Judge Iron NPC. I'd give some... Interesting ingredients. :D

I like the idea of an Iron Setting competition. Each GM would be given a list of ingredients and would have to turn it into a compelling and interesting setting.

A setting is really difficult to do. Takes a lot of detail, at that.

Well it could be setting summaries. About as long as typical Iron DM entry. Maybe 3-4 pages max.

After all the WotC submissions ended up being a page or so in the end. ;-)

Iron World Builder I like it. The WotC thing made everyone start with a one page (750 word) treatment. We could just do that. Could make it a bit easier by stating it can be a city, city/state, etc.

All these ideas are great. Maybe we could do up a pdf download of the rules for all of the different games and suggestions on running them. Then other boards could have Iron games and once a year we could hold the Iron Olympics.

Ooo, that got me thinking. Simpler than a World would be a Demi-Plane (or a part of a plane). So, Iron Plane! It could be a Demi-Plane, it could be a sub-plane, it could be an interesting street in Sigil, etc.
