I used to ask this question every year. I'm not sure why I stopped. I last asked when we hit 100,000 members, and now we're at 160,000. We get over a quarter of a million unique visitors a month, and the news page in particular is read millions of times a month (and with the impending release of a new edition, that always goes up!)

Anyhow - this isn't really about us old timers who have been here for years, or who came here from Eric's old site. This is about the people who have joined in the last couple of years - how did you find EN World? Did you stumble upon it via a Google search, follow a link from elsewhere, recommended by a friend, found it via a Kickstarter or a product you bought? What was it about the site that brought you here, or that made you stick around?

I honestly can't reply even with all the options listed there. I don't consider myself an old timer, I came over in 2008 when the WotC forums started transitioning into primarily 4e content. I only registered here to look up occasional content for about a year (I think) before finally switching over almost exclusively.

I found this forum not from recommendations.. well specific ones, or links or anything of the sort. I just got tired of WotC and started recognizing ENWorld's name being mentioned and decided to look you up. The same thing goes for how I learned about GiantITP forums, just general awareness leading to my registering there. I haven't switched there fully though, but time will tell if I do or if my interest in their site will die off.

And yeah, I don't consider myself old, but I don't apply under your 'newer people' clause which you said are the last couple of years. And I didn't get sent here so much as I looked you up myself. Please advise what I should select and I shall.

I heard a rumor that 5th edition was going to be announced, and I followed the breadcrumb trail. It lead here. I then lurked for the next two years until the User Only content caused me to register.

Several google searches for character builds came up with ENworld suggestions, which led to my increasingly regular visits. Became a member when I started playing in a pbp game here. :)
