D&D General Why grognards still matter

The thing is, I can't think of a single edition where the art direction was really good. I think this art direction is better than most, and it's still not good. But it's at least better than the halflings we got in the last version.
Which one The Bard or the Governor Chris Christie Merchant? I didn't like 5e art directiom either. I didn't like 4e but it had descent Art.

That getting the benefit of being part of a community requires compromises. If you want to get the good bits out of interacting with people, you must accept some imperfections in those interactions.
I don't think I'm sacrificing all that much to be here discussing game design theory with people who play D&D but sure at times we make sacrifices.

Sure. The point being that they all have their own, perfectly valid interests, and you kind of have to accept that going in. Everyone here is exposed to a lot of content they aren't interested in - it is not special to folks who don't like WotC.
Sure. I would think that would be obvious. I guess I'm mystified you bothered to comment on that fact. Did I seem to imply otherwise?
