New map gallery ...

Dan Algstrand

First Post
I've just added a map gallery of my own to EN World Fantasy Art Galleries.

Check it out and let me know what you think.

You'll find my gallery here.

Very, very impressive! Is the Gondica work published?

I particularly enjoyed the perspective Keep -- it's perfect for instant visualization.

Thanks ...

Yes, “Gondica” is published (1998, in Swedish only). It’s a heroic, swashbuckling, renaissance kind of RPG, using something similar to WEG’s d6-system. It’s written by the Swedish equivalent to Gary Gygax, Anders Blixt.

I looked at lots and lots of actual renaissance maps to get the right look and feel (and I also used only those map projections that actually existed during the late 15th and early 16th centuries).

The finished map of the keep will probably appear in a coming (free?) d20-adventure, along with a few other isometric perspective maps. I particularly look forward to making the map of a rather small hovel built from sticks and twigs.

Thanks for the praise.

Just wanted to say welcome to the boards, and always nice to see a fellow swede in here :)

(and do not ask about the DEX: 4, I got it from Russ when I visited him OK)

You have some very nice work there-I like the details such as the meridians and measurements along the borders. Very good!

Don't suppose there will ever be a translation of that, will there? Are there more detailed maps of that city available? It's very nicely done.

Extremely well done. I like the look of these maps. How did you go about producing them?

Thank you.

How I do: Pencil sketch > scanner > Photoshop > convert coastline to bezier curves w. Streamline > Illustrator > back to Photoshop.

Naturally, it's more complicated than that, but it would take a very long post to explain exactly how I do.

Perhaps I could prepare some kind of walk-through, with images and all?

Would that be of any interest?
