Benefit:

Any spell with a "Range: Touch" descriptor becomes "Range: Close (25ft + 5ft / 2 levels)" and affects a maximum of one target per 2 levels of the spellcaster. This feat only applies to spells with a target of one or more creatures (alive, dead, or any in between). Each creature in the area receives the full effect of the spell. A spell with this feat uses up a spell slot four levels higher than the spell's actual level.

Special: A cleric cannot use spontaneous casting of cure spells with this feat.

Comments: I don't know for sure what the spell slot increase should be for this feat, maybe 4-6 levels. I know I probably need more limits to the feat, or at least some clarificaiton with regards to some spells. I've not researched the effect of the feat fully, so any comments on what spells could be abused by this feat would be appreciated. Also, someone more creative than me could help by giving it a name. Thanks!

<imagines harm with this feat in epic level play> Gaah! Think of a cleric 30 who uses a 10th-level slot for a metamagicked harm and a 9th-level slot for a quickened, metamagicked inflict light wounds. Up to 15 creatures within 85 feet die instantly unless their SR saves them.

I think this feat needs refinement--you're obviously thinking about some kind of combination of chain spell and Reach spell for cures. However, the things a smart character could do with this are frightening. Even as a 9th level spell, a close range 1 target/2 levels HARM spell would be way too much. Poison or Bestow Curse would be reasonable though. That would mean that it should be at least +4 levels (as written) to prevent it from being used with Harm, but probably not more than +5 or +6 levels.

However, at that point, a mass cure critical wounds spell will end up higher level than a mass heal. And if I guessed your initial purpose correctly, that means that it doesn't do what you wanted it to.

So, I'd recommend checking out Defenders of the Faith for the reach spell ability and Tome and Blood for Chain Spell. Together they may be able to do this. . . .

Like Ferret said above, this feat has pretty much already been done. Its in Defenders of the Faith (pg. 20) and is called "Reach Spell." Basically it turns a touch spell into a ray with a range of 30 feet. It uses a slot two levels higher.
