New Names for Undead, Fiends, and Abberation for a Post-Apocalytpic game

I need colloquial terms for undead, fiends (all evil outsiders - demons, devils and so on), and abberations (all abberations) for a post-apocalyptic D&D game called Sundered Skies.

I will probably use Fell when referring to all three. I might use Fiends for all of the evil outsiders. I think that will work. I need something else for undead and abberations. Abberations for the most part come from another plane like Xoriat in Ebberon.

In another thread I also need a little help in this thread about a mechanic for Dweomer Channeling for the same campaign, if you have the time.

interesting thoughts.

Horrors... somewhat appropriate...

Blasphemous is somewhat appropriate as well.
This is a good start.

Can you think of something a little shorter - at most one syllable for the primary type two syllables for subtypes - not that I am being picky or anything.

Thanx

I was just thinking of Spawn as the type and then going with
Farspawn, Hellspawn or Fiends, and Deathspawn.

My thoughts are a little boring, but straightforward.

I don't see the need to give each its own "type", even if outsiders, abberations, and undead are still as mechanically different as in standard D&D - your average person doesn't know or care, much like few fishermen care that trout are salmonids and bass are centrarchids.

Now, for specific creatures that have a history in a particular area, a simple, catchy name will work wonders. It can be a string of simple hypenated words: devil's-own, look-back, etc, or another simpler word plus 'er' - "squisher", "eater", "mucker", etc.

You have a definite point. wonderfully simple and applicable. To the common person you are exactly right. That is more likely how they would call them. I will have to use that.

I suppose this is more for (N)PC's that are more in the know with knowledge of the planes and so on who could classify them accordingly. PC's and their nemisi.

Monsters. ;)

Seriously, all of those things are monstrous in some way -- they are alien, or evil incarnate, or the living dead.

Cheers, -- N

A little too simple and not so evocative, but very true.

I want to carry a darker feel with my descriptions. I am going for a darker campaign with a 'Matrix/Madmax/Darksun feel to it'ish.
